Shallow Pocket Tips

Enjoying summer to its fullest doesn’t have to mean spending exorbitant amounts of money. Here are a few ways to save money as you make the most the fast passing days of summer!

  • Purchase your favorite pizza toppings and make homemade pizzas. Not only will you have some great family time but making the pizza at home will be cheaper than going out to eat.
  • Don’t stop at the main course! While shopping for your pizza toppings, be sure to pick up some ice cream, syrups and toppings and have your own banana split buffet. You can be a s simple or elaborate as you desire and can still spend less than going to an ice cream parlor!
  • Do you have a family of gamers? Then purchase games second-hand at stores like GameStop; yes, you may have to wait a while to get the latest game but you can save a considerable amount off the cost. Another option is to check out sites like 365 Days of Free Games, Jay is Games or IndieGames.com, The Weblog for free (or nearly free) games.
  • Despite the fact, that many advertisements would have one believe that reading from a book is no longer in vogue; there is still something to be said for book reading. Take advantage of the lower prices at local used bookstores. Many of them not only sell books at a reduced rate but they will also accept used books for credit on new purchases.
