Shallow Pocket Tips:
No matter where you live, housework is a part of life. However, you don't have to spend a fortune to have a home that looks and smells great. Here are some tips from the renowned household hints, guru, Heloise:

•  Microfiber clothes are one the best cleaning products available and can be used to clean a long list of items. Some of these include-the front seat of your vehicle, the mirrors and chrome in your bathroom or kitchen, dusting the leaves of your plants, or  your computer keyboard, monitor and other electronic devices. When you are finished just toss the  cloths in the washing machine and they can be used agin later, making the micrfiber clothes not only environmentally friendly but a good investment as well since there will be no need to buy extra paper towels!
•  Cleaning the dishwasher can be accomplished easily with household vinegar or citric acid powder. Pour a gallon of vinegar in the bottom, let set for an hour or so, then run the washer through a full cycle. Citric acid powder will also help remove hard-water buildup. Add a half-cup of powder and run the dishwasher.
•  Clean your microwave by filling a 4-cup capacity microwave-safe bowl filled with chopped citrus and 1 cup of water. Since microwave wattage varies, cook until the water boils. Be sure to let the water cool for at least 15 minutes before opening the door to wipe out the microwave, so that you are not burned by the steam.
•  Window/Glass cleaner:
12 to 16 ounces water
1/2 cup white or apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol (70%)
1-2 drops blue or green food coloring, if desired
1-2 drops lavender, cinnamon, clove or orange essential oil. Combine the ingredients and  put into a labeled spray bottle.
Spray the newspaper first, then wipe down the window to avoid drips. This bottle of nice-smelling window cleaner can cost as little as 25 cents and also works well on mirrors or glass shower doors.
